HOUSTON, TX, February 3, 2009 - Elex Technologies, Inc. (ElexTek), a Houston, Texas based software solutions and consulting

ten years in business. Technology developed by ElexTek
has been featured in reviews and forums hosted by Houston Business
Review, PC Home

“At ElexTek, we are taking advantage of the current
economic downturn to increase our investment in research and
development and expand our intellectual property and developed
applications base,” stated Ellis Giles, Chief Technology
Officer and founder of ElexTek. Mr. Giles founded the
company ten years ago to create an innovative and strategic
consulting company in the technology industry. ElexTek
has survived two economic downturns while continuing to
provide innovative software solutions and developing its own

After completing several technology initiatives for various
companies, ElexTek began development of its own distributed
computation technology, which it now markets as the Distributed-computation And
Remote Threading System, DARTS. Shortly thereafter,
ElexTek began research and development on another application,
eventually releasing Photo
No-No. This unique
software protects children and families from adult images on
the Internet by scanning and blocking such images before they appear on a
computer screen. ElexTek received a patent
in this technology area and has others
pending.
In addition to its popular software products, ElexTek
recently expanded its high-tech services into premium web
hosting, low-cost domain name packages, SSL certificates, and
other Internet services such as free email, spam blocking,

Photo No-No! Selected As The #2
Internet Protection Software
PC Home Magazine Recommends The Pornography Blocker
From ElexTek
HOUSTON, TX, March 15, 2005 – PC Home,
the UK based computer how-to publication, praised
pornographic image blocker
Photo No-No! in the magazine’s latest issue, giving the
unique software a four star rating. The article, “How to
protect your children online” by Dave Howell, included
reviews of the major parental control software. Of the six
products recommended, Photo No-No! 1.4
was tied for second with Net Nanny 5.1, and well ahead of
both third place Cybersitter 9.0 and un-ranked Norton
Internet Security.
Howell reported that
Photo No-No! 1.4
offers features all of the other products lack. “Inappropriate
images are one of the main types of content that your
children may be exposed to,” he observed. “Luckily, Photo
No-No! can detect when any unsuitable images are about to
appear on-screen and block them.”
Howell continued by noting, “You can also manually input
Web sites that are to be blocked, and override the settings
if you need to.”

Photo No-No! Is A Whole New
Category Of Internet Protection Software
Houston Business Review Recommends The Pornography
Blocker From ElexTek
HOUSTON, TX, December 15, 2004 – Houston Business Review,
the Houston based business news site on the Internet,
featured a review of the pornographic image blocker
Photo No-No! in the web
site’s December issue 2 newsletter. The article, by
Houston Business Show weekly
commentator Richard Sonnier, praises the unique software,
and recommends it to anyone concerned about inappropriate
images from the Internet.
“The product”, Sonnier observes, “addresses a real concern
for parents like myself: how to keep inappropriate images
away from children. Businesses have the problem as well due
to sexual harassment laws. The product works by analyzing
each image file downloaded while web browsing and checking
it against its database.”
Sonnier goes on in describing his findings; “I downloaded
and installed the evaluation version. The installation was
simple and the software worked fine on a new Windows XP PC…
I did a test search on Google for naked women, and
Photo No-No! did indeed
block many images.”
Sonnier found the software to be about 85% effective at the
Default Setting, and that it has a tuning scale to make it
more or less sensitive in blocking more and more images.
In giving his recommendation, Sonnier, who is also a
principal in the Information Technology Services
firm Nimble Service,
called Photo No-No!
“a whole new category of Internet protection software.”

News Release:
Pop-Up No-No! Purges Rich-Media
Internet Ads Featuring Flash Animation
Wired News Article Spotlights Pop-Up Blocker
Software From ElexTek
HOUSTON, TX, March 5, 2004 – Wired News, the Internet based
technology news site for Wired Magazine,
praised the advertising image blocker Pop-Up No-No! in the web
site’s March 5 issue. The article, “Outsmarting
the Slick Ad Boys,” by Wired
reporter Joanna Glasner, commends the cutting-edge software as
one of a few programs that are successfully defeating flashy
video and animated ads online.
“Thwarting rich-media ads”, Glasner points out, “can be
more technically difficult than killing pop-ups, given that
video and Flash animation are commonly part of a site's
regular content.” And, she notes, this new medium is even
more insidious than the “much-reviled pop-up
advertisements.”
However, there is hope. Glasner reports that “adoption of
rich-media-blocking tools is on the rise. Their growth
coincides with a jump in rich-media promotions.”
Elex Technologies (ElexTek) was cited by Glasner as one
developer of ad-blocking software that added a
rich-media-blocking feature to its anti-pop-up software Pop-Up No-No! late last
year. The article quotes Ellis Giles, chief technology
officer for ElexTek, for the reasons behind the rapid growth
in this new form of advertising. "Pop-up blockers are being
installed on a large percentage of computers, which forces
advertisers to use other methods such as rich-media."
Giles goes on to point out why the new form of advertising
is so annoying. “While pop-ups are almost universally
detested, some rich-media ads are now so involved and
graphically detailed that they use up a large percentage of
a user's processing power. Some take over an entire desktop
or browser. “
That creates hostile consumers. But, as Glasner observes in
the article, more and more advertisers are willing to take
the risk. “Meanwhile, the number of rich-media-blocking
applications continues to grow.” The fight continues.

The World’s First Pornographic
Photos Filter!
ElexTek Releases Artificial Intelligence Porn Filter
HOUSTON, TX, July 26, 2003 - Elex Technologies, Inc. (ElexTek)
announces the release of Photo
No-No!, the next generation of parental controls in protecting
children from adult images on the Internet. This innovative software
based on artificial intelligence blocks pornographic photographs
before they appear on a PC screen.
Photo
No-No! version 1.2 has been trained millions of times
to learn the difference between "good" and "bad" photos using the
ERG Artificial Intelligence Image Analysis Engine (patent pending).
Parents use Photo No-No!'s sliding scale to control the level of
nudity it blocks, depending on their own family values.
Unlike many parental controls that are only able to block
specific words and/or web sites,
Photo No-No!
visually recognizes and blocks pornographic images. It does
not rely on a subscription service attempting to monitor
changing web site names or Internet addresses.
"The great thing about this new software is that it has
learned to recognize nudity in all its forms. The parent can
adjust the level to control the image analysis blocking
level," said Ellis Giles, President of ElexTek. In addition
to the software's photo filtering capabilities, parents can
also use
Photo No-No!
to block objectionable web sites.
Photo No-No! version 1.2 is affordably priced
for families and available now for easy installation at
http://www.PhotoNoNo.com. It works best with
any Windows based computer system using Internet Explorer,
Netscape, Mozilla, Opera or other major browsers.
A free trial version may be downloaded from the web site.
The fully functional version is also available for only
$29.95.

News Release:
Distributed Computing Speeds
Computations
ElexTek Releases Parallelized / Distributed Computing
Framework
HOUSTON, TX, January 6, 2003 - The new software product,
D.A.R.T.S., http://www.DARTSystem.com,
version 1.0, has been released by ElexTek. D.A.R.T.S., or
Distributed computation And Remote Threading System, speeds
computations of computing applications by multiple times. It
allows the ease of programming threads to run on remote
computers as easy as on the local machine. DARTS can solve
the problem that most companies have -- a need for more
computing power. Instead of buying bigger, better, more
expensive computers and servers, complicated and memory
intensive computations can be done on the computers and
servers the company already owns. In this way, companies can
save thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars.
DARTS harnesses the power already available in the company's
network to do the computations that would have required an
entirely new system in the past. In other words, the
company's already existing network becomes the advanced
computer or server the company thought they needed.
The business uses for DARTS are endless. They include
database crunching, sorting, searching, updating records,
complex, intensive computations such as factoring or
encryption, large computations, analysis of financial data
and analysis of the stock market to name a few. While there
have been other attempts at distributed computing through
universities or organizations such as SETI at home, genetics
computations or things like breaking RSA, these solutions
are not available to the business world in general. Two of
the problems with those methods are that they are
proprietary and most are unable to run anything in access
lists with one client. DARTS solves both of those problems
and more.
DARTS is a client / server framework, where all of the
clients register and connect to the server to run requested
threads. The DARTS server schedules requests and keeps track
of all available computer power on connected clients. The
DARTS client connects to the server, monitors its host
computer availability and runs threads from remote machines
when needed and available. The code is Java 1.3 or greater,
is similar to programming threads and is extremely easy to
use. Basically, any programmer that can use threads can use
the DARTS toolkit. The design features can connect to
multiple servers throughout the same application or multiple
applications running on the same host, can connect to the
server from the DARTS Client Application running on the same
host and can provide constraints so that the remote thread
only gets sent to a desired processor. The only constraints
are the processor type, the operating system type and the
current load on the machines. DARTS even provides advanced
scheduling so the user doesn't have to worry about where to
send computations or what he or she is running. In addition,
DARTS is fully configurable with regard to ports, addresses,
transport, security management, etc.
